With no let up in interest in all things local, especially delicious food, and a burgeoning microbrewery scene, it's great to be able to celebrate all of this at a growing number of food, beer and artisan gin festivals in 2026. It's food and drink heaven!
Making a beeline for one of the many food & drink festivals where you can sample to your hearts’ content everything from beer and gin through to jam, chocolates and seafood often while listening to live music, should be an occasion everyone's yearly calendar.
Don't forget our monthly farmers' markets for more regular local food fixes, while food is integral to the summer's agricultural and country shows too.


Filey International Food Festival (4 -5 April, 6-7 June, 8-9 August, 10-11 October)
There will be great food from brilliant producers, plus interactive cookery demos from local chefs, live music, beer, fun fair and much more to enjoy.
Fish & Ships Whitby (16-17 May)
Celebrating everything that’s special about our coast’s magnificent maritime culture with plenty for foodies, from cooking demos with celebrity chefs in the festival kitchen and shipyard tours to fish filleting and crab dressing demonstrations by local fishermen, live music, children's activities and much more.
Flavours of Yorkshire (4-5 July)
New for 2026 at Pickering Showground. This weekend event focusses on affordable family fun- free entry and parking! Festival highlights include chef demos from local celebrity James Martin, a pop-up picnic area, 'The Whole Hog' BBQ competition and an 'Electric Avenue' showcasing electric vehicles. Expect family friendly entertainment including a funfair with inflatables and soft play.
Beer Festival at The Plough, Fadmoor (10-11 July)
Head to Fadmoor for the second Beer Festival at The Plough since 1782! Expect a great selection of local craft beers and ales, cider & gin plus mocktails and general bar for non-beer lovers, live music and hot food. This is an outdoor event in the grounds of the pub, with all proceeds going towards the restoration efforts of The Plough.
Scarborough Seafest (17-19 July)
Seafood lovers descend on this food festival held as part of Scarborough's maritime heritage celebrations. Sample the food stalls and enjoy free seafood cookery demos in the Seafest Food Theatre with leading Yorkshire chefs.
Whitby & District Lions Annual Charity Beer Festival (23 - 26 July)
Based at The Whitby Mission & Seafarers Centre, over 30 real ales, ciders and perries to sample from local and regional microbreweries, with all proceeds going to local charities. Plenty of local food too.
Saltburn Food Festival (26 July)
The popular monthly farmers' market is boosted by special guest chefs in the live cookery theatre, children’s cookery workshops in the Family Kitchen, and beer festival. Make use of the Park & Ride.
The Sun Inn Beer and Cider Festival (September - dates tbc)
Renowned real ale pub, The Sun Inn in Pickering, holds its an annual beer and cider festival every September, with live music and food throughout the weekend for all to enjoy.
Helmsley Brewery Beer Festival (October - dates tbc)
Helmsley's tap room had their first beer festival in 2025, featuring ales and craft beers from some of their favourite breweries, along with gin, curated wines, hand-crafted cocktails, live music and Asian Fusion food.
Cropton Brewery Beer Fest (13-15 November)
The Cropton Brewery Beer Festival celebrates its 30th event in 2026. Described as legendary by CAMRA, expect live music, loads of homemade food and more than 80 real ales, lagers and traditional ciders. Regular shuttle bus operates over the weekend with collection/drop off points in Pickering.
