The 'express style' fish & chip shop
Fish Box, at the top of the bank in Robin Hood’s Bay, is run by third generation fish family Fusco’s, so they know one or two things about serving up the freshest fish & chips possible.
It is still a family business founded five decades ago and now run by three brothers. ‘We make sure we know exactly where the wheat for the flour in our batter mix comes from; we know the trawler crew who catch the fish and where the fish are caught and we’ve even have been to the slaughterhouses where the beef dripping comes from’ says Stuart Fusco.
In 2013, they became the first fish and chip shop in Yorkshire to be given the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) stamp of approval for their sustainably sourced fish.
When the North Wind is whistling, enjoy your supper in the stylish, fresh, cheerful blue and white wooden cabin; on a good day, take in the stunning views over the sea on the elevated patio. Or trot down the vertiginous hill onto the huge beach for a fish & chip picnic.
