There's more to discover at Danby
The Lodge's peaceful location and expansive grounds make for lots of exploration away from just the Centre. Spend time discovering secret corners and interesting features across the site.

- You'll find our Reflective area just beyond In the Wilde. It's a peaceful place to reflect and relax. Take time to sit and be calm, maybe read a book from the book stop or listen to the sounds of nature.
- Look out for our 'sit spot' benches with etched wording asking you to engage with the natural world around you.
- Explore Crow Wood via a short, circular, easy access route that starts in the main car park. Follow the woodland trail to hunt down the secretive woodlings and find their homes. Pop into the hide and screening area to watch and identify bird species. You might even spot a cheeky squirrel looking for food!
- 'Back to Our Roots' is a wooden sculpture depicting a human figure merging into the roots of a tree. It invites us to think about our physical and emotional bond to nature, an interconnected relationship. What do you think?
- Our cloud watching pillars offer a chance to take a moment and watch the world go by...
- Do a #2Minute litter pick. The station is near the carved fish sculpture at Danby Den. Help yourself to a litter picker and bag. Thanks in advance!
- Come back and visit us in the dark. Danby Lodge is an official Dark Sky Discovery Site and home to the Dark Skies Station. On clear nights you can experience the magic of seeing the Milky Way with the naked eye.
