Based in north Shropshire, Jacqui has been potting for more than thirty years – it is her passion and a constant joy in her life. She works with grogged, white earthenware to make decorative forms (mostly vessel based) using a variety of making methods.
She feels no need for her work to be functional and simply seeks to make objects that are pleasing to look at. Inspiration for form and surface is drawn from many sources, but she has an endless fascination with birds, as well as botanical imagery. She also takes inspiration from the countryside in which she lives, as well as antique textiles and design from the 1950’s.
Jacqui is an author of several books focusing mainly on hand building techniques and methods of surface decoration in ceramics.
