Justine Warner

Mixed media artist Justine Warner works from her studio in Sheriff Hutton, near to the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. She works mainly with recycled fabrics and found objects, utilising experimental textile techniques.

Her work is inspired by the landscapes of the north of England where she documents locations with photographs and sketches in a range of media.

Once back in the studio, she uses found objects and recycled fabrics to layer and blend her work to give a highly textural finish. She uses pattern, tone and colour to add perspective to each of her pieces leaving small patches of pattern to add depth and interest.

In her mixed media pieces, she uses paper, ink and thread to build up layers within the landscape and finishes with detail using her sewing machine and stitch.

She has a passion for all things textile and mixed media artwork and appeared on Landscape Artist of the Year in 2022, where she created a landscape with recycled vintage ties.
