Here on holiday without your bike? Need a spare part?

Don't worry – bikes are available for hire from the following outlets, some will even drop the bike off to you wherever you are. It's always worth phoning first to check opening hours and availability.

There are bikes to suit all ages and abilities, some offer eBikes to take the hard work out of our steepest hills, and most hire operators also offer cycle servicing, sales and repairs.

Bayhire

Conveniently located 300 metres from the Scarborough to Whitby Cinder Track, Bayhire provides all the gear to spend a day making your way up the North York Moors coastline. Their fleet includes mountain bikes for adults and children. Plus a great range of additional aids for children including tag along bikes, front and rear seats. Those wanting an easier ride can hire folding city bikes too.


Big Bear Bikes

Big Bear Bikes is an independent  bike shop, situated on the main A170 road through Pickering, with a large range of mountain and road hire bikes available, as well as an extensive range of clothing, parts and accessories. The workshop can often provide a same-day service for all types of bikes.


Bike Doctor

A one stop shop located in Helmsley offering e-Bike hire with clothing and equipment. There is also a collection and delivery service within 25 miles of Helmsley. The workshop offers repairs (including simply puncture repairs), regular maintenance, bike fits and set-ups and bike upgrades.


Dalby Bike Barn

Located on the edge of Dalby Forest in the village of Thornton le Dale, Dalby Bike Barn offers bike hire (including ebikes for road and mountain biking) servicing and bike shop.


Dalby Forest Cycle Hub

Based in the heart of Dalby Forest Full range of hire bikes (full suspension, hardtails, kids, tag-along, trailers, baby seats, electric mountain bikes and adapted bikes) plus bike shop, serving and workshop, taster sessions, training courses, demo days and events.


Moorland Cycles

Moorland Cycles is a bicycle repair workshop based in the picturesque village of Hutton le Hole the gateway to the North York Moors. Moorland Cycles undertake all kinds of repair, rebuild and servicing work. Rider owned and a qualified Cytech Level 3 & ebike mechanic.  ​


Northern Ride

Based in Malton. Performance cycle shop and servicing, stocking premium brands such as Bianchi, Cervelo, Colnago, Merida, Sarto and more.


Sutton Bank Bikes

Sited at the National Park Centre, with direct access to bridleway trails, minor roads and off-road routes. Mountain bikes, road bikes, ebikes, children's bikes, tag-alongs and trailers available for hire. Also has bike sales, servicing and bike wash.


Trailways Cycle Hire

Located on the former Whitby to Scarborough Cinder Track, 2 miles south of Whitby. Arrangement by appointment only for bike hire, buggies, tandems, trailers and ebikes.


Yorkshire Bike Hire

Located in the north-western corner of the National Park with great mountain biking and quiet roads for cycling from the door. Bike hire options include road, mountain and electric bikes, plus Rusty Bike Coffee House, for that all-important post-ride cake and wood-burning stove experience.


Yorkshire Cycle Hub

Based in the heart of the National Park, cycle hub with café (and awesome views across Great Fryup Dale), bike shop, range of mountain bikes to hire plus electric bike options, bike wash, drying room and bunk house accommodation. Regular social rides, all ages and abilities welcome.
