Our 'Gateway 1 Self Assessment' was published on 31 October 2026. We are required to publish this assessment under Regulation 21 of the 2026 Local Plan Regulations.
This is an overview of the progress we are making on preparing a new plan. It shows our readiness to prepare a new Local Plan. We have also created a reports on feedback from our 'First Steps' consultation and have updated our Project Plan.

The closing date for the call for sites is 30 November.
We are also asking for views on our Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Document.
Previous stages
A Notice of Intention to Commence a Local Plan was issued by the National Park Authority on 29 June 2026. We asked for initial views - see our 'First Steps' pages for more information. A consultation report, detailing how we consulted and a summary of responses we received is available.
