In accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026, the North York Moors National Park Authority gives notice that it intends to prepare a Local Plan.
The Local Plan will be known as the North York Moors National Park Authority Local Plan and will include Minerals and Waste Policies in the new Local Plan. The Plan will cover the Local Planning Authority area as delineated by the boundaries of the North York Moors National Park.
We expect to begin the 30-month Local Plan preparation process by 31 October 2026.
A plan-making timetable, which sets out the stages and indicative timescales for preparing the Local Plan, is available to view online here.

This notice is intended to provide early awareness of plan-making activity and to help communities and stakeholders understand when and how they can get involved as the Local Plan is prepared.
